Chinook (“King”) salmon are deep-water fish, while Coho (“Silver”) salmon are typically found in shallow waters. Captain Curt will expertly guide you to the best fishing spots for each species, ensuring an unforgettable experience during the season.

Guided River Trip for Chinook Salmon
Our exclusive Guided River Trip targets Chinook (King) Salmon aboard our drift boat, with a two-person maximum for a personalized, full-day adventure. This trip takes you to the upper rivers near Coos Bay and Charleston, Oregon, known for producing larger salmon. To book, please call us directly at 541-378-3040. The cost is $250 per person.

Salmon River Trip in Oregon
Catch Spring Chinook in the Pacific Ocean and Oregon’s coastal rivers. The best time to fish for Spring Chinook is from mid-March to mid-June. These salmon typically average 18-22 lbs, though they can reach sizes of 40 lbs or more.

Fall Chinook are typically larger and are caught between July and December. These salmon can range in size from 20-65 lbs, with the average being 25-30 lbs. Both Spring and Fall Chinook have a limit of two fish per person, per day.

Coho Salmon are often caught while targeting Fall Chinook. Oregon regulations allow anglers to keep only Coho salmon with a clipped adipose fin, ensuring sustainable fishing practices.
